Packaging imagery often requires a level of visual perfection that real products cannot consistently provide. Products may be slightly distorted, vary from batch to batch, or present challenges when photographed. In such cases, 3D illustration becomes a powerful solution, offering complete control over every visual element—from form and texture to composition, lighting, and color.
This level of control allows the client, art director, and illustrator to work together toward a precise creative vision. The result is imagery that is both visually compelling and consistent across an entire product range.
For this project, I created a series of three crispy cookie illustrations. The actual cookies showed some deformations, and some of the mix-ins were not as visually appealing as desired. The composition, developed by the designer, called for a slightly surreal presentation, with the cookies floating in space, following the designer's established creative direction.
Using 3D illustration, I was able to refine the shape and appearance of each cookie while preserving their authentic character, resulting in a set of images that feel both appetizing and dynamic.
